    Harrison Alpha 1550s Alarms

Apologies if this is in the wrong section... kind of new to this forum posting lark.
I have a harrison alpha 1550s lathe which has a few things preventing it from working.
The powered cross slides are working in both axis but I still have the following alarm messages on screen:

300 APC ALARM : X AXIS NEED ZRN which I'm guessing is something to do with the x axis needing to be homed

and 306 APC ALARM : X AXIS BATTERY ZERO which I'm guessing is a battery on a PCB somewhere.

The machine hasn't been used in a number of years, so I will be getting a service engineer in but unlikely before September so any help in the mean time would be great.

    Regards,
    M.

You need to change the Lithium battery pack in the top of the servo amplifier, or, if the machine has D-cell batteries in a black box mounted to the door, change those. Then after you home the X, the alarms will go away.

    You're pretty much right!

The 306 alarm means that the battery on the X-axis servo amplifier needs to be changed. Fanuc part number A98L-0031-0011#L.

Once the battery has been changed then the axis must be referenced. If you let me have your email address then I can send you a detailed procedure.

Normally, they are two batteries in one pack, should be 6vdc. Keep looking.

No, that is the CNC battery located behind the screen. Whilst it is good practise to replace this battery regularly, this will not solve the problem. As stated above the battery you need is fitted to the front of the servo drive in the electrical cabinet.
