    Question Proximity switches

    Hello all,

I happened across some proximity switches in a box full of stuff I got at an auction. The switches are TURCK Bi, 5- EG08-AP6X. 10-30 VDC 150 mA.

Does anyone know what these are typically used for and if hey could be added to a CNC router or mill? I plead ignorance on these items. I do know that they are $$$ though.

    Hi Bgriggs,

Ask Balsaman about them. I think he puts them on his router to sense when he is out of range of the E stop button of his control panel
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)

    LOL,

They can be used as home/OT switches but the voltage is too high. If used in combination with a transistor or a relay it can be done.

They make nice home/OT switches and such because they are not affected by the dust.

I think they are worth $50.00 -$75.00 each.

    I wish it wouldn't crash.

    proximity sensors

Thanks for the information. I knew the value $$ of these items but not their VALUE. Perhaps I will look into using these on the machine I am designing. There were some other interesting items in that box to. (See Picture).
