Brush strips for DIY dust boot

    Hi,

I am in the process of making a dust boot for my four axis router table. Can anyone recommend a flexible brush strip and the source to purchase it from (preferably in the US to save on shipping?) Ideally a strip that can easily be bent into a 2.5" radius.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have been looking at that page. Which one did you get, and are you happy with it?

Hmmm...I had bought something different for mine...
    McMaster-Carr

I bought one of the vinyl strips when I was looking for a dust boot...although I guess something like that is preference.

    KentCNC, LLC. Replacement Brush
I used this brush on mine and very pleased with it. I had built the shroud several years back and used neoprene strips for a while and then switched to this brush which works so much better.

I machined a circular groove in lexan and inserted and bonded the brush backing strip (plastic of some kind) into the groove with super glue. The backing is nice and flexible.

I just placed an order at McMaster for the same stuff as WoodSpinner (only I ordered the 3".) It's flexible without the steel backing. I'd be curious if it isn't the same stuff as the Kent CNC, after reading their note about supplier changing backing size. But at less than $20(including shipping) I'll give it a shot. I was going to order from a New Zealand company called Comac. But I thought they were very rude in the email correspondence.

Thanks for the replies. We'll see how it goes.

Well, I received my brush from McMaster yesterday. I am very happy with it so far. The binding is supposed to be .25 thick (I haven't measured it), I cut the slot in my dust boot .20 wide while waiting for the brush to arrive. I had to work it in with a flat screwdriver, but so far, I haven't need to glue it in.
