    Question Laser PWM Question??

    Hi All,
I'm setting up a FS 40 Watt using Mach3. I have the laser moving around with the G code program. But I can't get the laser it self to come on with the PWM settings. In port & pins, tab spindle set up I have Base freq set to 250 and the min PWM set to 50% Does that sound right?
    Thanks in advance Donn

Can I ask why you are using Mach 3 to run your machine?

    SP40 watt / mach 3, I'm burning now!

I bought the maching used. The operating program licence that comes with this maching is not transferable.
I all ready have autoCAD lite 07, CUT2D and an old computer. Mach 3 is a good fit to my programs. Plus I can use it for many other machines.. I'm also using a PC4NC Break-out board C1R10 and serial port cables.

I figured it out! I was using pin 1, should used pin 17. Sometimes I just need to walk away for a bit. 30+ years experience running CNC machines. probably helps. Hope this answers you question....D

Why do you say it's not transferable? I don't think I got a license with my laser, or even a copy of the software. I got a sheet of paper saying "you can download the software from this link, the password is X".

Obviously they don't want people who haven't bought one of their lasers from obtaining a copy, but perhaps you wouldn't be breaking the law by downloading it.

    non-transferable license??

    license problem guy...

I have not heard of any reputable company that would not allow a software license to be transferred with the new machine owner. I am sure that the software can be used.. If not, please post who denied the software for you.

Some software packages require a USB dongle to work.. In this case, not having the dongle-key is like not having all the parts of the laser machine.

PS... We have added new laser machines to our lineup. We now offer smaller desktop, portable, low price units, full feature units, open flatbed, slim-line flatbed (thin for shipping or moving thru doorways)

    Just to clarify

The original owner wanted to keep the software and retina board. He told me that it wasn't transferable. He also needed it for another laser he built.
I never checked to see if it was transferable.

Anyone know anything about the 2.5D settings in Mach3 for this laser?
