Hi,
we have recently purchased an XYZ 1060 HS VMC with the
Siemens 840D ShopMill Control.

It gets delivered in 2 weeks and I was wondering if anyone had experience with this machine and or this control??

I have 2 Hurco VMC's and normally use Edgecam to program them via G-Code.
occasionally I use the conversational at the pendant.

How is the siemens with Edgecam??

Siemens doesn't use G code like you are use to. I use parameter programming for it. makes EZ for at the control updating of stock size and lenght of stock sticking out of chuck. Not to hard to figure out.

siemens does have a G-code you can put in your program and tell it the following is an ISO type g-code program..

there is also a setting for it so it powers up that way
