Looking for any advice, direction, tutorial, etc. Right now it is just sitting gathering dust rather than making it.

Want to have the students make signs and patterns, possible some 3-d carvings.

First step is to take inventory.
Machine, tooling, computer, software, etc.

Then read all the manuals, read through hours of helpful commentary on cnczone, then you can start asking questions.

Look at Vectric V carve pro or Aspire. I use that software with 7th and 8th graders. Aspire does everything. V carve pro does V carving. to be honest we do mostly v carving with our students.
