On the sprutcam site if you go to the forums it says sprutcam 8 was announced at some rusian metal work show last month. Any one heard of a release date or any info. Thanks.

There is a v8 folder on their download server but it is empty.

SprutCAM 8 have been officially released. Customers can install it directly from the SprutCAM website.

of course, the cost of the upgrade depends from the version of SprutCAM that you already own, and if you subscribed or not a maintenance program. If yes, you will get the new version without charge. If not, in case you own the previous version (Version 7), you are entitled to a 50% discount. If you own SprutCAM 2007, you will get a 25% discount. But all of this depends also from the policy of your local reseller.

has anyone been able to install SC8 on win7 64bit? mine didnt install properly, it finished but seems it did not download all the files, im trying on a win xp 64bit seems like its downloading a lot more files in the win7 64bit machine did.

I installed the 64 bit version on Windows 7 Premium without any issue, and it works fine. It is possible that the files downloaded for other Windows versions are different.
