My laser engrave wont trace objects, only cuts using horizontal or Vertical paths

    Hello Everyone,
Im new to posting but have been reading and looking through here for a while,

    I recently aquired a 50watt co2 Laser engraver,
    a ZTGD-4028D Artware Engraving Machine,

I seam to be getting it down pretty well,
Iv made about 40-50 pendants, bracelets, masks, lots of art pieces etc etc
but after looking online at videos I noticed that my machine is only cutting/engraving on either the Horizontal Axis or on the Vertical Axis,
It takes me 1-2 hours to cut out a simple small circular pendant.
I know that I could do these way faster (a few minutes) if I could get it to follow curves while cutting.
I wish I had a video camera to show you what I mean, but am hoping that someone here will know, and can point me in the right direction to get this thing working better...

Also, when cutting/engraving using the horizontal axis, it messes up alot and starts moving around while engraving the images. creating a very chopping engraving that looks like crap =(
The vertical axis it only seams to happen 1 out of 20 projects or so,
vs with the horizontal its almost every project if not 1 out of 3

I included a few photos of the pendants iv been making below as well,

    cut / engrave

    hi there
    your pendants look great!

it sounds like the difference between CUT and ENGRAVE.

eg. CUT = following a vector path, either on lower power/higher speed to mark a line on the material, or on higher power/lower speed to cut through the material.

eg ENGRAVE = rastering / scan lines usually in horizontal X axis on most machines. a vector or bitmap image is then built up from successive scan lines.

i would expect those pendants to take 5 minutes each. ( mostly for engraving the surface detail, a few seconds to cut the outline!)

What software are you using to drive the laser ?

    regards
    KPB
