    CMOS Battery

    Hi ,
I use a Bridgeport ExTrak CNC 2 three axis milling machine . It works some years without problem , but now I get the message CMOS Battery failed . Does someone knows where I can find the battery ? I do not find the battery on the pc-board.

    Thanks

    Hans

If your EZ Trak is a 1998 or later, it will have the single board computer with the timekeeper chip. Some of them were socketed which makes an easy change but if not, find someone who is good at repairing circuit boards and have a socket installed. The timekeeper chips are cheap. Amazon sells them for about $16.

If you search this forum, this topic will come up many times.
The problem is that we do not know what is inside your electrical cabinet. It could be an original mother board with a NiCad battery soldered in, or a coil style lithium on a newer board, or a Dallas Real Time Clock chip as mentioned before.
post a picture of the control part of yor electrical caand we may be able to help you.
