Good day. For Every body.

I am a new user of CNC Zone club. And I am a CNC professional ( mostly in horizontal lathes).

Recently I come accross one problem(doubt) that when we are machining
a Internal spherical turning on VTL ( Vertical turning lathe) what will be the
compensation (G41 or G42) and what will be the the tool position(T...) to be entered in Tool Offset page.The System is oiTD Fanuc.

As I know in a horizotal lathe for the same application the compesation
will be G41 and tool position will be 6 ( as the tool is a nutral I.D Tool ). Same way the Compensaeion for plain O.D turning operation is G42 with tool position of 3 (T position)and for boring Opn G41 with tool position of 2.

Pl. clarify my doubt in VTL m/c for I.D spherical turning.

It's true dat it's all a bit different on a VTL.
When looking at the fanuc programming manual on the pages discribing tool typ, node radius compensation, G02 and G03 radius ,on the image you will see two arrows corrensponding with the X+ and Z+ axis.
you have to mirror en rotate the image so that the X+ and Z+ arrows allign with your machine axis.
Probbably G41 will become G42, G02 will become G03.
Not sure about tooltyps, cann't remember, believe some stay the same some change. think typ 3 and 1 stay the same , the rest change.
