My machine, a KM3P which was upgraded from a std Max II to MAX32 came with nearly very option Hurco could sell a customer for that machine.

I have a box for the Ultimax PC, with 3 sets of manuals (apparently never used) the 5 1/4" floppy disc dust jackets but no sign of the actual media or dongal. The prior owner did everything in MasterCAM so the code could be POSTED for other VMC's for final production. About the only time he ran in conversational was to cut steps in vise jaws.

I contacted Hurco maybe 2 years ago and when I ask about it they just laughed at me. Basically if you have a machine with a dual screen Max II consol your on your own or will be dealing with third party vendors.

I was hunting for a good KM3 to retrofit when I found this gem. I used Ultimax from 86-01 and for very short run and proto's its the best thing since bottled beer and sliced bread.

With the great options this machine had plus the upgrade to the awesome power of the Intel 386/387 processor platform I was glad to get it as it was. (a Max II uses the 8086/8087 @ a blazing 4.077Mhz ) ( I often wondered if I could have plugged in a NEC V20 CPU )

Anyway - If anyone knows of one of these (Ultimax PC software and dongal) that has been set aside due to age or upgrades I would love to get my hands on one.

I have a VMX 64, and 2 42's all w/ Max 4 consoles.

They all run Ultimax V2.32, don't know if that will help.

I fairly sure that the Max II version of Ultimax PC was pure DOS based and did not run in windows at all.

I honestly don't know what the "Optimal" version is for the Max32 as the Max III came out soon after and I don't know which way the compatabilities go. IIRC the Max III was early Pentium based.

I will need to dig out the box and get the version number and Actual Hurco part#

AKelley - I will try to give you a call soon if I can squeeze it in, My current day job is IT admin / and broadcast engineering assistant for a cluster of 8 stations and we have just started a facility audit.

Timsportell - I have a backyard of about 25 acres, and maybe 15 or so acres in the front. Even at that scale I kinda think that MI might be just a little farther than what I'd consider local. I'm basically due east of Colorado Springs, CO. I'm not up to speed on Max 4 - but I do know that Winmax is a completely different animal.

I've got MAX PC which was used for Max2 controls and saved files in .HDB format. The Max3 software was PCMAX which had Ultipockets and saved in .HD3 format. The best thing for a Max32 control would be PCMAX.

I have what you need, I used to use it on Max11, Max3 and Max32 systems
I have all the software (Ultimax PC/PC PLUS) and dongle plus all the manuals.

You can save programs in MAX11 in HDBT or HDB format and the others in HD3 OR HD3T
i also have a serialize program from hurco to tranlate from one format to the other.
I been running Hurco bed mills from the start, I purchased the first BMC-20 Hurco made.

It's all Dos based, but will run in Windows 95, 97, or Windows ME
You have to have an old computer 386, 486 and it has to have an Intel CPU.
It will not run on AMD systems.
Also I have a old laptop with it installed if needed.

Hi thanks for that cliff , where am i likly to find a copy and a dongle so i could write to disc ,it would save me having to power up the machine all the time to program,being a fred in the shed that gets expensive

Hi, Adrian. I've looked around to see if we had any old PCs that still had it on there but to no avail. We only have one old Win 98 laptop but no dongle.

Hi im looking for a pc plus program and dongle so i can program my hurco ultimax 3 on the pc it converts it to the same screen you see on the machine but you need a dongle to load the info to disc or usb key
