Post processors and Bobcad/cam vs Gibbscam

    Hello all,

My company bought Bobcad/cam v24 a few months ago and I'm getting some time to test it out. I have a lathe and mill, controlled by Okuma OSP-E100L and OSP-E100M controllers respectively. Not sure if it matters but the lathe has live tooling, and both use canned cycles. Anyone have recommendations on good starting point for the standard post processors that Bobcad/cam offers via the support sections of their website?

Secondly, I am evaluating this vs Gibbscam. Seemingly Bobcad/cam wins out on the cost side of the equation, but how does it compare otherwise? If anyone has experience on both can you give me a quick run down on pros/cons of each from your experience? Thanks in advance for your input.

BobCAD currently only supports 2 Axis lathe programs. We do not currently have the functionality in the software to support live tooling on the lathe.
