    process file to large

Hello, using mastercam X5 working on tutorial 4-2 ? it looks like a plak and says 101 MASTERCAM having trouble loading the file into an okuma mill, file to large, I have a process for ea. tool change and the file is still to large the 1/4" pocket and the 1/8" re machining process are very large by them selves they are more than 200KB the okuma only allows about 137KB. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Greg

You can play with the filter to shorten the code. That would be one way to do it. If your filter is set real tight you will get longer code. Know your tolerance and adjust your filter accordingly.

    i can help with that

Delete your line numbers. then delete all of the spaces in your code. I have the same problems with my Okumas.

If you have depths set, try using sub-routines (not sub-programs, it puts the subs after the M30, in the same program ).

a big saving if you have say 20 depths of a single pocket, where a single pocket pass is 10Kb ... thats nearly 200Kb

    Note
There are no subs available if surfacing, & no real benefit to sub, if you have single pass ops (ie single pass finishing )
