Folks,

Can someone tell me if a software engineer can install the gcode option on a Mazak QT30 or if we need Mazak to come and install it?

its usually a hardware+software addition. you need to contact Mazak. also make sure you have a lot of money to throw at them

Costs about $3500 from mazak. Did it on our Quick Turn Nexus 350. Well worth it!

We already bought the option. It was around 3'200 (for something what every other machine has already on board and it's called standard...).

We are located in Canada. The modul comes from Kentucky, USA. Here my question:

Can we install the module ourself or do we need to call (and pay) Mazak Canada for this Job?

I assume you have not received it yet? You could install it yourself if you know what to do. You would probably need to install a card and change some parameters. Mazak may give you the instructions if you ask. If not you will need to pay Mazak to install it. Or they may insist on installing it to cover their warranty. You really should be asking Mazak.....

Mazak canada thinks it is not a problem to do so. I should start and if i get into trouble i still can call them.
