akira seiki lathe meldas 50 control S01-33 servo alarm

    Hi All

I am a long time fan, first time post.

I have a akira seiki lathe asl 17 with a mitsubishi meldas 50 control, ran fine for several years, today, smoke comes out of the back of machine, I got a S01-33 servo alarm, I did some looking up, I believe is “over voltage” alarm. I guess some how, power amplifier exceeds 400v, I call up service, tech is 1 week out, can anyone help me with this matter? Firstly, is it a easy to fix problem, is this something I can DIY?, what need to be replace? What does the part looks like? Some picture would help.

I am in CA, if you can fix my machine, please send pm.

    Thank you in advance.

Call premier machine works. He works on those all the time. I'd pm you but can't figure out how to do it on tapatalk. He's in Livermore, send me a message if you want his number. It's going to be a drive replacement I'm sure.
