    need updated training

It has been over a decade since I have ran, or programmed a cnc lathe. I have been running mills since. I have a opportunity to land a entry level programming position. This place has haas lathes. I was asked to program a simple 5 step block of aluminum ranging from 2 inches to 5 inches. what g-codes are used for rough/finish, and typically what feed/speed is used for this material?

Download the Haas lathe manual. The basic codes you are looking for are G71 and G70. If you will read and study the manual and its examples first, you will be way ahead of the game. You can get speeds and feeds from the tool makers or from Machinery's Handbook.
