Hi guys,

Whats the difference between those 2 types of grinding wheels? The only thing I have noticed is that the Hard electroplated ones have steel disks and the resin bond most of the times are aluminium disks ( cools better? )

I use it to grind carbide tools, I use the cup shape ones and they are available in both types. Is there any of this 2 that is better for my application? Witch one lasts longer? Any pros and cons?

only pros I know of for the plated are you can get them made to shapes that you can not dress on a wheel dressing machine....the downside is if you need them redressed you have to send them back to the manufacturer....the bonded wheels last much longer because you can redress the shape back into it over and over and true it to the arbor....I have tried every cup on the market and hands down its 3m cup wheels that get my vote.

Thanks for the info. I ended up buyng a electroplated... Well now that I know next one I buy a resin bonded.
