We have two Mazak M4 lathes, both built within 6 months of each other. One has different software loaded and the grooving cycles are different. one works fine with MazaCAM, the other has "trash" in the first few lines.
Does anyone have a solution to getting these two machines to be identical?
Can the "firmware"/"parameters" off the "favorable" machine be loaded into the other?
Both have T1 controls. Both run and are in production.

T1 controls come in two flavors. The original T1 and an upgraded version that Mazak called the T1-(Dash) They are completely different hardware and cannot be updated by software versions.

ok, why does one like mazacam and the other is cranky with it? any special changes i need to make?

Mazacam cannot create a new T1 program only edit existing ones. As long as you keep them separate they should be ok.

What i am needing to know is can a separate "post processor" be made for the oddball machine? for all intents and purposes, the programs can be used on either machine, BUT, one must pay close attention to the trash in the first few lines and the grooving cycles... otherwise, the operator on up to the owner have a really crappy day.

While im thinking about it, do you know of a functioning Mastercam X post that can be used on the T1? i have heard that this is akin to searching for Bigfoot or Nessie...

T1 is Mazatrol only, no g-code input. Remember the T1 has been out of production for over 25 yrs. The first Mazatrol with eia support was T2.
