Hello,
I've been working on a wireless DRO based on Arduino controller and Android tablet for the display. (Details here: http://www.yuriystoys.com/2012/09/do-it-yourself-dro-with-arduino-and.html ). I have some "crazy ideas", but would appreciate your feedback.
Android table's have gobs of power and really nice touch screens, so I want to play with some "advanced" functionality
Here is what I have in mind:
- Automatic point recording (every time there is a change in direction on one of the axes, a point will be added to a list).
- Graphical preview or the recorded points.
- Voice notes
- Basic G-code parsing (I didn't a G code parse project for school a while back, and a basic parses that supports only a few commands is easy to do).
This way I'd be able to load "designs" into the DRO.- Power feed control (quick jog to the next point).
This list is based on the things that I wish I had in my DRO. Do they sound usable in general?
Additionally, what functions (in addition to hole center, hole circle and hole matrix) would you want to have in such unit?
Thank you
Yuriy
