also does anyone have a example of how you are stacking code for this
    controller?

    repbob,
Thanks.....our machine currently reads and displays in the metric system, I would like to change it to inches. Also x and y axis' are swaped positive for negative. Its a beast 46' in the x axis.

    hello Otis,
my compagny is closed now but I will return there on december 26 for one day and have a look to our documentation for Siemens 840C.
If I understand well you want to change the machine from metric to inch and you want to change the sign of X and Y.
I don't understand what you mean by " beast 46' in the x axis." Sorry english is not my mother language!

    metric/inch

    Hello Otis,
    1) to switch between metric/inch:

push menu key (down right), push parameters, push bit settings, push arrow right( not the one on the keyboard, the one to expand menu), then you have a key to switch Inch/metric. But I noticed that some manufacturers cancel this perhaps to avoid errors, I don't know..

This depends also wich soft you have on your machine.Let me know..

    2) to change the sign of one axe:
change NC MD(MD=machine data= parameters) 564* bit 2. * means the axis number; 5640 is for first axe, 5641 for second one etc...Here also be careful, I don't know if it's OK with your soft
    Best regards

    Repbob,
Many thanks....its software version 5. By "beast" I mean its rather large, 46 feet of travel in the x axis.
It might be a day or two before I can get back with the results.
    Thanks again,
    otis
