Does anyone use constant velocity mode?

I like the idea of he machine trying to optimize its velocity, but can't see how it would really work in practice since you have no real idea what path it will take, especially if you have to make multiple passes with different bits and they may not line up. So in what cases do you use it and what precautions do you take?
    Thanks

I always use it. I also set my look ahead for 150-200 lines. Seems to smooth things out for me. I don't have any real criteria I have to meet but my own.

I would think that nearly 100% of router users use CV mode. As long as you have decent acceleration rates, you shouldn't have too much trouble. Tweaking some of the CV settings should give you good results.

I only use CV on both the mill and the router.
