I see that this is an old post. I was just wandering thru and saw it. Did you figure it out or do you still need help?

Yes, I found a dead prox switch on the turret which it why it would not stop from turning. Of course the shop owner said it was a crash. The cable to the prox switch goes to the tailstock end, up to the top, back across to the headstock end, down to the bottom, through a tube to the back center where the Fanuc IOs are. I noticed a bunch of mouse turds in this IO box.
And in the center of that tube was about a foot long section of that cable that was all chewed up by the mouse, and all the way though on the power to the prox switch. The crash was coincidental or scared the mouse into a a much deeper bite!
So the machine is running.
