Has anybody tried using a mini fridge to hold a water tank that you pump through. Sort of like a beer master.

I haven't, but I did consider it, but didn't think it would work. The compressor in the mini fridge is small, and it's designed to take the heat out over time, so if you are just flowing warm water into and out of it, I don't believe there would be enough contact time to lower the temp. You will have much better luck using a window air conditioner and sticking your coil on the cold side.
