    DNC stalling

Twice the other day while dncing new files the machine stopped motion leaving the spindle spinning. In one case there was an error message pertaining to a line with a simple XY move. The other case it looked like the transfer just stopped and the machine ran out of code.

Any thoughts on where to look? The cable is about 15' long and the baud rate is set for 19200.

    Thanks in advance.

It could be several different things. Tell us what communications program you are running and how you have it set up.

    1) Try a new cable.
    2) Try lowering your baud rate. If lowering the rate works, the chips on your communication board could be getting ready to go out.
    3) Send out on a different computer.

    Which Fadal control version?

The older cnc 88... year 89 and before would do that the cnc 88hs, I not sure about. Shaun and slowlearner have good points...if the cable and/or the baud was to high the buffer could not bump fast enough on the other end.
