Can any one point me in the right direction for wiring up the optical switch for the Zaxis limit on a syil sx3 cnc, it goes into the interface board in the input 3 slot but the board is marked VCC - S - GND and the three wires are White, Black and Red but which goes to which????? after many hours of searching the web I'm still no wiser. Thankyou for any advice

Following normal colour code practice, the Red & Blk would be VCC and GND respectively, with white being S.

Yes that is how I have done it BUT while I have been waiting for conformation from the supplier I was doing some serching and uncoverd this photo of one wired up totally differently, Black-vcc red-s and white-gnd all seems a bit strange to me.

In the absence of any thing further, it may be necessary to reverse engineer the sensor end.
This way you should be able to confirm it if this uses a standard optical sensor?

All sorted and working Thankyou.
In the end it was the vcc-black s-red gnd-white as in the photo.
Why it is that way I think only the maker could tell you.

They didn't use red as expected, as I found too.
You can't assume, as it makes ASS out of u and me.
