    Fanuc tool changing issues...

We have recently installed an older Mighty Usa Viper, with a Fanuc 18 control. At first the tool changer was stuck, but this morning, we freed everything up. The carosel rotates and tools change with only the pocket that is at tool change position both without a problem... or close to it.... the problem is that calling a different tool doesn't rotate the tool changer, it only switches the tool in and out of the spindle with the closest pocket. Calling tool 2, for example, doesn't bring pocket 2, it just switches the tool. Rotate the carosel using the atc forward or reverse buttons and call tool 2, and you get whatever was in the closest pocket. Also there is a 1041 t code error generated at every tool change. Any help would be appreciated. This is the first time I have used this control.

Some of the older controls require tool calls and tool change commands be on seperate lines. For exmple:

    N1G91G28Z0.
    T1
    M6
    G0G90G54X0.Y0.S2000M3
    ...etc...

    Try that??

I believe I tried that. Some more information: Viper vmc 2100 ag... also I am wondering if my problems are the result of trying to set the tool/pocket registry... Again, my apologies, this is the first time I have used this control...
