Hi, I'm also having problems coming up with the correct setup for a cnc plasma/Router table I want to build. I'm struggling with working out the right timing pulleys to use and I'm not very familiar with inches. I need a reduction pulley to give me more torque because of the weight of my Gantry. Currently I have these options in mind.

620oz stepper motor from candcnc
5mm pitch 12 teeth pulley on motor with a 5 pitch 30teeth timing pulley which I'm hoping will increase my torque a bit, but my main problem is all the settings that need to be entered into the Mach 3 Motor tuning interface. I've read the manual, but it still confuses me.

I apologize if I'm hijacking a thread, but I'm new to cnczone as well, heads up for any advise I can get.

Are you using rack and pinon, or screw drive?
What drives are you using?
How fast do you want to go?
How much weight are you moving?

I'm intending on using a Timing Belt with Pulleys, I'm not sure how fast I can go, but probably not too fast considering I want to do Plasma cutting and Routering. I'll be using 620oz-in Hybrid Motors from www.candcnc.com, and the Gantry weighs 85kg including router. I will have a 4 axis system, but only really need 3 motors on the axis's with the hopes of perhaps running the 4th motor on the Y axis too. Table dimensions are 3m x 1.5m
