    Need about 4 more inches

What is the best (safest) way to get 4 or so more inches in the z axis (toward the table) Mori Seiki MV-65, I realize there is a parameter I need to change but up until now I have not had to deal with it. Thanks

We all could use 4 more inches!

I HIGHLY doubt you will get 4 more inches unless someone shortened the travel. There may be 3/4-1" more you could get. Depending on the year of the MV65, and control type, it may not even have hard overtravel switches, so you will need to adjust the Z- softlimit and move down slowly. Watch the Z load to make sure your not binding or hitting the rubber bumper. Too far with that machine and the ball nut will explode. Not a weak Z motor on that thing.

Thats what I was afraid of, And Yes, Not a weak Z motor on that thing. I did manage about 1.25" by messing with the limit switches but I thought there would be more in an adjustment of a parameter just wasn't sure which one. Thanks

Regardless of parameters and L.S. it is more of 'is it physically capable of moving that much further'?
Most manuf. squeeze the last inch of travel distance, 4" seems like quite a bit to expect?
