Im setting up a plasma table with mach, 4 gecko g201 drives and steppers. my breakout uses the charge pump
Im testing my x axis for now, mechanically everything is on the money i get smooth movements and great repeatability. The annoyance is when I power up and press the reset button in mach3 the stepper motor moves a step and and if I keep pressing reset it will move. Now when I jog the axis then now press reset the axis works properly and does not move when pressing reset.
any way to prevent the motor from moving during the mach3 start up?

After powerdown, you cannot be sure the machine is in the same place it was left. The proper way is to home the machine after each powerup.
