Exclamation Fanuc O-T Miyano BNC-34T Twin Turret?

    Hello,

I am working on a post for one of my customers.. They have a old 1992 Miyano BNC-34T Twin Turret with Fanuc O-T control.. I need to know what some of these G & M codes mean.. If someone has a pdf or scan of full G & M codes for this machine let me know.. They haven't found the manual for the machine yet and I want to get started... Below is a sample of working code..

    Thanks

B is the front turret. it is set on center for drills etc and moves only towards and away from the chuck like Z, but it is called B

The weird G/M codes are machine specific

M61 - M66 calls the tool numbers for the front turret (turret index)

T71 - T76 calls the front turret offsets
T70 cancels the offset then G0 B0 sends the front turret home

    M90/M95 makes the turrets wait

G101/G102/G103 defines the beginning of a front turret sub program
    G100 ends the definition

M40/M41/M42 runs the pre-defined sub programs (up to 3 can be defined using G101/G102/G103). Sub programs don't show on screen when running

All of that B.S. is required because it's an 0T. Not 0TT. If it was Twin Turret (TT) it could just have 2 separate programs but because it's only a single turret controller they got around the limitation by adding sub-program definition and some waiting codes.
    It's a helluva non-standard machine. urgghh!

Re: Fanuc O-T Miyano BNC-34T Twin Turret?

Does anybody have a sample program from an o-tt control they could post? We are getting an anc-45s twin turret lathe next week and i'm anxious to get up to speed on it. We purchased it on ebay and my concearn is if we receive the machine and it doesn't come with manuals. Finding information on this control or machine on the internet has been very challenging. Actually impossible. 2 weeks of digging hasn't produced hardly anything. Even miyano's parent company, Citizen, doesn't have any information posted on its site. Maybe thats why they don't seem that popular. who knows. If anyone has anything they could post, that would be great. thanks in advance. Cheers.

Re: Fanuc O-T Miyano BNC-34T Twin Turret?

Well, we got our Miyano anc-45s, and I am not disappointed. The machine was under power and running a job when they shipped it. Manuals were supplied with the machine. Been studying the programming manual for a few days, paying attention mostly to spindle open, close and rotation commands that are different from my haas's. I think I got the wait code concepts pretty down pat. Sounds like if I dont want a turret to move, I just dont give it any code after a wait code until it matches a wait code from the other turret. So essentially, a waiting turret has two wait codes next to each other. Sound right? It looks like for subspindle hand-offs, I slide the sub-spindle up, and to machine on it with mostly the lower turret, I have it in the slide down position. There seems to be some sub-spindle registration codes I may or may not have to use when I want to use it. I'll have to figure that out. g101 thru g103 for sub spindle registration, if I'm remembering right. Or maybe thats head 2 registration. Crap, its one of those, LOL.
Think I remember a g110 for independent B axis movement, whatever the hell that is. Its gonna be fun. If I got any of this stuff wrong, feel free anybody to holler at me, I can use the free advice. At any rate, wish me luck. :-)
