Hello everyone,

I am working on a Grizzly G8689 mini Mill turning it into a CNC. Nema23 200oz/inch steppers, Mach3 control SW and the CNC conversion from CNC Fusion. The problem I am having is that there is uneven travel between the negative X direction and positive X direction after I calibrate the Mach3 SW and the Mill.
Calibrating the X axis over a 1" distance without Backlash compensation, I can get X to travel in both directions but the negative direction is spot on and positive direction is under by .017". With Backlash enabled, the negative travel is .003.5" over and the positive travel is about .014.5" under. I can split the difference but I'd really like the X to accurate to +/- .001" in both directions.

Does anyone have any advise as to where to look for this slop?

Thanks for reading and responding
