    Installing LinuxCNC without a complete OS install

    I went to LinuxCNC.org downloaded the ISO and to my dismae I found that its a completely new os install of Ubuntu. How do I install just the Application in my current Ubuntu 12.10 install?

    to the best of my knowledgeably, you don't because the installation requires a real time kernel and I don't think they have written one yet for 12.10!

    You can do it, but you have to install the real time kernel, and linuxcnc. The directions are on the linuxcnc.org website at the link below.
