I Have a old flashcut Signal generator flashcut cnc 401A
    servo control box
    limit switch wiring/switches
    3 servo motor cables 10'
    control pendant
and that's all I got when I purchased it at a consignment shop here in alaska

please tell me I didn't overpay..
what is the value of these items?
my wife is mad about the money I shelled out right before christmas

anyhow I sent a quote into flashcut but I'm bored for christmas so I'd like to play with the software if anyone has a version I could get from them.(I don't know how large the files are)
    please and thank you.

I'm hoping to build a cnc router(wife loves woodworking)
any help or info is appreciated

Boy, I wish consignment shops around here would have such finds !

Frankly, you'd have to wait until Flashcut sent you an idea on the value of your find to be up to date....

If you had posted what you paid, I could have at least advised how good a deal you may have got based on what I believe current prices to be.

The great news is that you do have one of THE FINEST PC based CNC controls available ! Flashcut is a super dependable, easy to understand control. You can build your router with either Stepper or Servo.

Did you not get any software with your purchase ? While Flashcut has worked hard to keep their software development in line with older hardware, you might have to pull open that signal generator and write down what exact main chip is in it. Knowing that will be helpful in determining which software release would be the latest and greatest for your specific hardware. I think that Flashcut could even tell you that from the serial number...... I'd just give them a call.

No matter what version you end up with to match your hardware, I will tell you that it will be great software. They never made a "dud" version. Though they have added and added new features over the years, I can attest to the fact that I would get along just fine with even some of their earliest of versions. Its GREAT STUFF !

    Thanks for the reply.
I will say WOW on the quality construction of the flashcut CNC servo control. something like a dozen screws just to get the top cover off.

some reason my E-mail to Flashcut didn't go through.
after too many hours of research and study.
I've decided I'll pass on building a CNC machine for now.

lol I have to many hobbys as it is

so I suppose I'll start trying to sell the parts off.

would you have any recomendations on where to sell?
or what pieces should be combined?(pendant, limit switches,ect...)
I'm thinking I'll start tossing up auctions on ebay

I have the serial 401A signal generator
motor signal cable and serial cable to connect to computer
    3-axis servo control box(appears new)

    3 10' servo motor cables

    the usb control pendant
    limit switches and harness

also a 1/8-1hp Seco challenger SCR motor speed control
model 8509A external signal input with run brake, has the 8011 remote station auto/manual switch and speed control dial.
I do have the instruction manual for it.

I'm in limbo on the whole thing, not going to cry a river if it doesn't sell
but I'm trying to rebuild my house after a fire last year.
so the need for cash wins.

I'm trying to get some pictures uploaded.
everything is better with pictures to look at

    Photos on MSN skydrive
photos take a bit to load the high quality

well any info or ideas are greatly appreciated.
    THANKS!

    -Jason

PS: I didn't mention what I paid and still won't but I only spent about the cost of taking the wife and 4 kids through taco bell about 4 times
of course my kids are bottomless pits when it comes to taco bell. lol
