How to tell where a part is located

Say you have a rectangle that is located somewhere in space, how can I tell the exact x,y coordinate where the rectangle is at?

Click on Utilities- then measure- entity, then select one of the lines with left mouse click. This will tell you where that line starts, stops, and how long.

If you know where you "want" it to be located, put a point at that location by say putting a point at the intersection of two lines. Then "measure" that point and find its X Y and Z location. Then use the translate function to move it in all three axis's at once right to zero.

Many files I am sent are way off in outer space and I have to bring them down to Earth.

May add that if you are working with a Solid you will need to Extract edges in order to do this. You may also use Entity summary.

Thanks guys, I thought that I had tried the measure entity before, but I must have done something wrong, it's working fine now.

    Using the "pick+Pick" method.

You can also combine the "Pick" and "Enter".
