    Mach3 Feed Hold Error

    All,

Like many of you, I've been a Mach3 user for years. Recently, whenever I hit "Feedhold" and then "cycle start", mach3 sends the machine to the tool change position (X0 Y0 Z4) . Has anyone seen this before? Attached is the gcode file when it occured.

    Thanks!

    Here's My Config:

    Mach3: version 03.043.066
    OS: Windows 7
    Screenset: MachStdMill
    Plug-in: VistaCNC iMachIII P1A pendant

My guess is it only happens in the drill cycles.
Try removing the G98 from the drill cycle lines.
I guess that what it does in a drill cycle, and acts like you reacted to a broken drill.
What's with all the G90's. There is never a G91 to cancel. Just one at the start of the program would suffice.

Thanks. I'll fix that, but this error happened during the profile portion when I hit feed hold.

    Not Solved!

I edited the GCode as advised bu it didn't fix the problem. I reverted back to an old version of Mach3 (R3.042.020) adn the problem did not occur.

Is anyone else having feed hold or stop problems with 03.043.066?

I hope I'm not the only one

I don't use the latest version of Mach3 because it did strange things.

A really early version that doesn't have 2 separate slider for the feed!! Licensed 2.63 I just looked. Just because it has always worked, and is not broken.
I did one 800 hour job, and didn't want any surprises.
I do have 3.043.022 but every time I try to move forward, I step back and read the revision information, and there is no gain for me.
I never upgrade stuff without a reason, and surprise-surprise - not to many unwanted 'features' surprise me.
Am I getting older and wiser? Nah, not possible.

Check out MSM board. Dave has posted various issues with each Mach version. I remember something on this one.

    Link to support forum:

From the release notes (Applies to LATHE) but maybe there is a Mill issue as well.

4.47 Lathe: Resume from FeedHold Causes Machine Crash
There is a very serious bug that causes Mach to crash a machine (does multiple uncommanded
moves and runs tool thru part).
WARNING: DO NOT USE FEEDHOLD for Lathe in mach 3.43.56 thru 3.43.59!
This was apparently a side effect of a prior change to mach.
    Probably broken in 3.43.56 (Dec 27 2011)
    Verified broken in 3.43.59 (Mar ?? 2012)
    Fixed in 3.43.62 (Mar 31 2012)

Might be worth a post on the MSM board to see if anyone is aware of this.

    John

Thanks John! I reverted to 3.43.58 and all seems to be well. Version 3.43.66 would lock out the keyboard, crash at random times, in addition to the feedhold anomaly (in my case).

I'll let you guys know how it goes.

    Re: Mach3 Feed Hold Error

I have a simillar problema I have the MACH3 Version R3.043.022 when I use FeedHold during an arc cutting and then restart with cycle start the MACH3 just won´t go back to the following coordinate, only when I push the FeedHold on my computer where I simulate the cutting path, but when I go to the machine it does something similar but only on straight lines, I don´t know what is wrong, can anyone help?
I cut EPS Foam, I only use 2 axes (X,Y) with the MACH3, and I use cutting wires instead of tools.
    Here in my program
