DIY Cutting machines for cardboard or chipboard

I cut a lot designs from chipboard and plastic. Currently I make a template and then hand cut everything. I am interested in making a machine to do the cutting for me. Does anybody have any suggestions for me.

I have no experience doing this, but how about using a drag knife in a CNC mill, such as this one:

Specialty Tools for CNC | Tormach LLC providers of personal small CNC machines, CNC tooling, and many more CNC items.

There is a video showing a different manufacturer's drag knife cutting cardboard at [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8jbtRTV6uw]Cutting cardboard With The Donek Drag Knife mounted in a Shopbot cnc router - YouTube[/ame]

That would be great however I don't have a Cnc and I think out of my price range. I was think about something like this but larger.

I am not sure how well it would cut the card board.

What size table were you looking for? For cutting, it's really difficult to beat the value of the Chinese machines.

You're best off contacting a supplier for an up to date price. I'd say you're living in the $7000 neighborhood including the shipping, taxes, fees for a well equipped 24x36 machine with a 60w+ tube and spare parts.
