    Please recommend a parting tool

    Hi all

I have a 7x mini lathe with a A2Z quick change tool post

I was using a parting blade but it's just been a pain in the ass. It flexes a lot and now it finally got jammed and broke the lip off the holder(flame2).

I need something that will cut 1" aluminum bar.

I would liek something more rigid and reliable. I was looking at those indexable ones but I don't really know which one to pick and what fits my a2z.

    Thanks

I would recommend going with a 0.062" wide inserted Iscar deep grooving tool. Typical part off blade is 0.125" wide. Way more than needed on 1" diameter stock.
