    New member living in te stone ages

    hello all I am newbie...

    I have a Fadel VMC .... and I am an auto cad user and have been hand writing code for 15 years.... I need to be able to convert auto cad lines into G code... I don't need to right full programs just need to take the pain out of more complicated tool paths.... what works well

    You did not fully describe the method you act actually using now. I also started off using AutoCad when programming. On a new layer, I would offset the geometry by the radius of the cutter I wanted to use and then use ordinate dimensioning to get all of the X, Y points.

    Yes thats what I do i get the xy and radius.... from auto cad. what I am looking for is an easy free or cheep way to drop 2D tool paths in a program and get code generated with line numbers g12 or 3 and radius...

    thanks I downloaded NCPlot it looks good I just need to figure out how to move the part 0, it seems to drop the file in a random place making the code offset by a random amount?
