    Controller PC for Tormach 770

Have an outdated computer sitting here and need a controller PC for a Tormach 770 mill.

Of course it has to stay running in full real time, no sleep mode, no hibernation, no power savings of any kind.

I asked Tormach specifically what components are in their controller, the electronics guy was out so haven't heard an answer yet.

    MB Asus P5P800
    Processor Intel P4 LGA775 3.0Ghz
    4 ct 1GB Corsair DDR1 400mhz PC3200 (4GB total ram)
    HD 60gb SATA2 SSD
    PNY Nvidia Quadro FX3000
    Win XP home SP2

Is this possible with this setup?

If so what all needs to be done?

That computer should work fine. I would follow this guide on mach3's website tho.

    http://www.machsupport.com/downloads...timization.txt

This helps you config an xp machine to be a pretty good controller, however, it is still not the same as Tormach does as their system is actually a version of XP for embeded use. By using embedded, they can control a lot more of the installation to get only the features they want into th computer, but this guide will get you very close. I used it on my old mill.

When I bought my Tormach, I actually got one of their controllers as I just wanted the system to work without any fiddling.
