    Connecting C6 to C35

I'm having trouble getting clear directions on hooking up a C6 to my C-35 board. As I understand it I cannot simply use the RJ45 cable to connect the two dispite that being the obvious path. I tried using the RJ45 port on the C6 and cut the other end using the 4th pin(step) connected to the #16 output location on the C35. Then configured Mach 3 in ports & pins to use #16 as the step signal. As far as I can tell that's the only connection I need to make between the breakout board and the C6. I have a separate power supply connected to the C6. The supply claimed to be 12v output, but turned out to be close to 18V so I connected it to the 15-24V terminal. The manual said something about connecting the ground from the BOB to the C6, but that goes against the isolated grounds discussion on here. I need to know what connections need to made between the BOB and the C6? The C6 has power and lights up, but I don't think I'm not getting a signal to it because I get no voltage on the output.

You need to connect step, dir, and gnd between the c6 and the bob.

I was about to say "That can't be right", but I looked at the manuals and you are correct. That is a huge oversight on their part.

I'd just connect a RJ45 to connector 5 on the C35 and cut the other end off. Break out pins PP pins GND, 1, 14, and 16 from the cable and hook it up to the C6.

I'm glad you spotted this, because this is the next upgrade to my system. I would have been POed if I spent a bunch of my time troubleshooting to find that the ports were not pin for pin compatible.
