    Cool HELP - Losing Steps

    I have a precision plasma table with candcnc bladerunner controller using mach software. When I check the motion of each motor (620 oz stepper) I lose .001 every time it reverses direction. Am I missing something?

    Is it backlash? Or is the effect cumulative? If it's an accumulating error, then it might be your steps/unit settings being a little bit off. Lost step errors are more random than this. You might also make sure that a coupling or something isn't slipping a little each time it's stressed.
