    Adding buttons to Mach 3

So Im using an a solid state relay to turn my router motor on and off, and another one for my vacuum. Im studying how to enter the g-code so Mach will start and stop the two but what I was wondering if there wasnt also a way to add a couple dedicated buttons in Mach to turn on/off my router motor and my vacuum manually if desired?

There's already a button to turn on the spindle "Spindle CW F5".

A lot of people set up their vacuum to use the mist or flood m codes. There's a Flood button on the main screen, and both flood and mist (and spindle again) on the diagnostics page.

Using the utility screen.exe I modified my screenset so that F4 turns optional stop on/off and ctrl-f toggles coolant. You can program OEM codes too so an external pushbutton will work for any of the screen buttons.

    Buttoms for Mach3

    Hi,

I use Ger's 2010 Screen Set and it is GREAT!

I added a few buttons on the right hand side. A friend of mine made them for me. One for my Vacuum Pump and another for my Dust Collector. Those are controlled via solid state relays with heat sinks attached to them to keep them cool. He even made a button for me to interact with my (X) point Laser Pointer that lines up a X/Y Corner and then moves the spindle to that calculated offset location and Zero's the X/Y DRO's. It is GREAT for setting the X/Y Zero location anywhere on the table. I have attached a screenshot of my main screen for your amusement.

Here is a link to my Shopbot MACH3 retrofit that tells about all the features of the screenset and how they are used.

Yes John! This was exactly what I meant, I would like to add those buttons like you did.
