    G0704, C10 and KL5060D, motors not jogging

    Hello all,

Looking for some help troubleshooting my electronics. I was very careful and took my time wiring everything.

When powering up my motors and drivers, the motor shaft locks up so it will not turn, but when I try to jog with Mach3, the motor will jog (the DRO in mach3 does change).

Here is the system I bought:

Uses a C10 BOB and two 5056D drivers and 8070D driver.

I tried two different computers, and also tried a PCI parallel port board (Rosewill 304). All have the same result, no motor jogging.

Here are pictures of my setup:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -Andrew

The most common errors are the driver switches incorrectly set and the COM jumper on the c10 needs moved to the 5v position.
If you want to run 1/8 microstepping the switches for the 5056D and the 8070D should be 1-8, off,on,on,off, off, off,on,on.
I zoomed in on your pic and see you have the driver switches set correctly for 1/2 microstepping, that's fine.

Hoss, thanks for the quick reply. Currently the jumper on C10 is set to GND, I will change it to 5V and give it another shot in the morning.

I can see your drivers are powered, but do they have an 'enable' input?
I've only dealt with Geckos, but the ones I have, need to see voltage on the enable pin to come alive. Just a thought.

Looks like it was the 5V com jumper! Motors are running great now! I guess the drivers are already enabled, thanks for the thought gd.marsh.
