    Re: PMC-L OE1 and OE2 combining to #ex

Is this the case also with fapt ladder for dos, runing on a standard pc with serial port?
I try to download a ladder i wrote for my machine/compile with a fapt ladder on a standard pc with serial port but when i press F6->F3 i got a red message on the pc screen
"Port initialize error serial port communication is impossible"
The pc which the fapt ladder is running was able to receive the parameters i send from the OM-F controller, so the cable->serial port is ok.
The cable is just a three wire connection, do i have to use the 5 wire cabling, with handshake, or this is not importand?
    Any help will be appreciated.

I looked into this a while back, the data is like the merged ex file, BUT they changed from binary to hex or something similar in the output- but think the sub2 break points are added in also...I couldnt sort it out for sure, but I cant do a lot of things

if you have the fladder, just leave the chips out, boot up, hit 1 to upload your new edited ladder from fladder(f6/f3/f1 to send thru a normal serial cable)...but it will get lost eventually if you dont put the chips in it. Ive forgot to burn chips a few times and the ladder got dumped, once I did it myself and I KNOW i hit 3 not 1, yet 'ladder not exist' msg popped up as If I hit 1.

just this afternoon I had one running on ram, for curiousity tried loading the ex file from procomm instead of fladder, wasnt really surprised, but no it didnt read it... figured there would be some control strings sent first, never snooped the communications to see what goes in when uploading to the pmc.

Try powering off the PC and don't start any other communicating between the machine and laptop. If I start my PC without anything connected to the serial port I still don’t get that alarm. Sounds like the serial port is tied up with whatever you did last with it. Or you have a blown port. Did you try to go both ways with communicating?

It's a standard ibm compatible pc running pure msdos 6.22, nothing else. The serial port is checked, because i could receive the parameters send from CNC.

You can receive the parameters but can you send? Fladder needs to see it go bothways.

    Re: PMC-L OE1 and OE2 combining to #ex

I finaly managed to send the PMC programm via serial. The problem was that the ms-dos directory was not shared and for some reason i don't know the fladder gould not initialize the com port. When i include to the autoexec.bat the command PATH=C;\MSDOS;C\FLADDER it worked. So i was finaly able to send the *.#ex file to the OM-F.:wee:

    Re: PMC-L OE1 and OE2 combining to #ex

You need to run Fapt ladder I.
Go from main menu to menu "F4 - DISCOMPILE", then input the ROM format file name, like : ROMFILE.#EX and the source file you want to be created, like: LADDERFILE.#LA.
Then press EXEC and your file will be created.Click image for larger version.

Thanks. I had already been able to do this. But how convert bin files to #ex, or how download ladder direct of cnc... on fanuc 0 series.

I use this app, but it doesn't work.

    Re: PMC-L OE1 and OE2 combining to #ex

I send the two binary files OE1 and OE2 to a person here in the thread you will find his email, and he did the conversion. I don't think fapt ladder I can do it.You need to combine the two files OE1 and OE2 to one binary file and then make it .#ex
