    need help with pulse generatior.

I use to work on a mazak u44 cutting laser. On the yearly maintenance the Mazak guy replaced the pulse generator and switches out. He was just going to toss them into the trash. Instead I talked him into giving them to me, I was building my cnc HF minimill at that time. Now I have no idea how to hook it up. I have a C10 break out board and KL6050 controllers. I have searched hi and low for the answer and cant find it. Is there some thing else I need. If not ware do I wire this and the switches in at to be able to move in x y & Z? the numbers on the back of the generator say type A860-0203-T001 then below that NO. 63-4495 There are 4 places to put wires first is labeled +5V second is 0V third is A fourth is B. Can anybody help me on this please. I am on disability and really this to get going!

    Me too.
You can see here how to hook a typical mpg up.

+5V and gnd should be self explanatory, A and B connect to inputs on your BOB.
Then set up your Encoder/MPG screen in Mach Ports and Pins using the inputs you chose.
The uploader is still not working it seems so I can't show a screen shot right now.
    Afterwards run Calibrate MPG.
You got a good deal by the way, they cost a few bucks.

Ya I knew the price had to be up there. The company I worked for at the time is the one who really got the deal. They had bought the extended maintenance warranty and this was his last visit. He replaced every thing in both lasers. All new mirrors and lenses and baffles and new electronics. Its just some thing Mazak does. I really like that company. He even tuned them in for us so we didn't have to. I like my little mill but really miss my lasers. All tho my mill does much better on aluminum then we could ever get those lasers to do. thanks for the link I will check it out in a bit.

Im still trying to figure out how to use the switches the switches to change it to x,y, or z. Looking at there picture tells me how to hook up the pulse generator but not the switches. Or is that something I have to set in Mach as a keyboard short cut? No use in having it if I cant move all three axis with it. That's why I practically begged the mazak tech for it. They come in handy for very small adjustment like trying to recent in a hole or along an edge. But not all the edges are on just one axes. I have to get this thing going ASAP the right way. Right now I kind of use it as a 30% cnc and 70% hand mill takes forever to do thing that way and business is starting to pick up.

Back in 08 I used a Mach 3 brain and a 2nd C10 BOB for all the OEM trigger inputs to get a couple rotary switches to control the Cycle Jog Step and Jog Mode functions. See video below and search my youtube channel for "mpg brain" for more videos.

I have an MPG wired as desribed already in this thread - then a rotary two-channel switch that controls the axis being jogged. So the MPG uses two inputs for its A and B, and the rotary switch uses another two inputs to present four different states to Mach3. Then a "Macropump" ( a macro that runs every 200 milliseconds) to detect the state of the two inputs and select X,Y,Z or A to be jogged.
