New to servo's and we are having some difficulty in getting the CNC mill to move correctly using servo's.
This is a CNC retrofit that had servo's installed already but the control software was DOS only and we were having problems
with axis movements so an upgrade was decided. Using new motors with ATM102 encoders and G320X drivers, MACH3 is being
used since we have experience with this on some home built machines but using steppers.
My question is in regards to the sequence of adjusting the pots on the G320X drivers, we started out with all the pots set at the
11 o'clock position and using an o'scope on TP1 (Gecko, please install wire loops there!) and triggering off of the dir signal we can
see the response on TP1 but in what sequence (P or I or D) pots should be tweaked?
We have selected the number of encoder pulses per the formula given in the docs for the Gecko G320X drivers.
Thanks,
Bruce
