8025-T on DV59 w/ Accuslide ? Will not stay on during power up

If you press and hold the green control on button the screen reports General Test....passed.
But as soon as you let go of the button it goes off. This machine new to me, I have no
history on it, the Fagor is not controlling the spindle speed or direction, they are still manual
Hardinge. To be honest...and don't laugh...oh, go ahead if you need to....there is more
than a faint odor of what I would call plastic or electronics when I sniff around the back of the
control panel....Good news eh ? Any help appreciated.

Well that kind of smell is never a good thing. Could be that something is shorted out. sounds like the control needs to be repaired.
