Any help would be much appreciated.

I was loading a program today on my Hardinge CHNC 1 with Siemens 810T control and found I did not have enough memory to load it. I thought that sounded funny as I only had two small programs in the machine and should have had plenty of room. I thought, no problem, just delete the two that were there and reload the program. However, when I deleted the programs, I did not recover the memory. It now shows that I have only 2 characters left. I can't load anything. The only programs in the machine are the L999(locked parameters etc.) type programs.

As I have been deleting programs, I have been loosing the memory they used.

Anyone know how to fix this and recover my program memory?

Okay, figured it out! When you delete programs in the control, you do not automatically get the memory back. You must go to "PART PROGRAM"---"PROG CONTROL"----AND "REORG." Dang, these books are so difficult to read and understand. Besides, why is the memory not returned automatically!!?!?!?!?!?
