    Cutting Corian

Very green here and till learning a lot about my machine (Joes 4x4 Hybrid) and cutting. One of the materials I want to work with is Corain to make molds out of.

I did my first cut a couple days ago. The stock was 4" x 15" x 1/2". I machined about 1/8" off one side only while also cutting in an airfoil shape for a model airplane horizontal stabilizer. I used 1/4 end mills, both flat and radiused with the Hitachi router set at "3" cutting at 70 ipm.

When I took the finished part off the machine it has a noticeable "warp". That is it no longer lays flat on my table. The two ends are each up close to 1/16".

Anyone with Corian cutting experience give me some ideas as to what I can do differently to avoid this happening or get rid of the warp?

    Thanks, Rick

Put it in the oven at 325 for a while then set or clamp to a flat surface
