HI ALL,

WE HAVE A OKUMA TURNING LATHE OSP700L-LCS15/1996 MODEL LATHE ,ON SOME POWER FAILURE SEQUENCE IT DIDN'T WAKE UP.
IT SHOWN ONLY"128 MEMORY FORMAT ERROR".THEN WE TRIED ALL THE EFFORTS TO MAKE IT ALIVE BUT NOTHING YIELDED.
SO WE COME TO A DECISION TO RETROFIT WITH SOME OTHER CONTROLS.MY QUESTIONS ARE,

1.IS IT POSSIBLE TO RETROFIT THIS ON THE CONDITION NOW?
2.WHICH CONTROLLER IS BEST(FANUC,MITSUBISHI,SINUMERIC AND HUST)?
3.HOW FAR HUST CONTROLLER IS RELIABLE ?(THE COST IS LOW COMPARED TO THE OTHERS)
4.CAN WE USE THE SAME MOTORS(EXISTING) FOR THE HUST OR GO FOR NEW MOTORS?

IF ANYBODY HAVING ANY IDEA ABOUT THIS ,PLEASE SHARE YOUR VIEWS.

I'd suggest replacing your batteries and reloading software. The 7000 is a very reliable control, and has many features you would lose if you break the "marriage" between machine and control that the Okuma has. If you do not have the software (usually found in the back of the control), just order one of the options you wish were on the machine, and you will get new disks as part of the package.
